Organisers add their own events to the website calendar

The calendar has been upgraded and has many features.... more soon.

Organisers can now, and need to, add their events to the calendar. I will only do it every week or so. Maybe by then your event will already be over.

As I update other OCJ sites the workload needs reducing.

Things you can do with the calendar:

• Add your own event - after login.

• People can email you or sign up directly on the calendar page - you choose. Comments also work on the calendar page so useful for organising groups and discussing an event.

• The google map is easy to use, showing English and Japanese names. You can show the location of a mountain in advance.

• In the future it may also post messages to the mailing list.

For now please delete your email and phone number from the calendar message as it is still public. Also the meeting time. Later this can be hidden from guests.

Adding an event to the calendar ...after login.
Go the monthly view.
Top right corner of each day you will see a + plus sign appear under the
mouse.
Click that and fill in the main details on the page that appears.
Title, category like hiking, details,...
Meeting times of events are best not entered ... as it is public. Please also delete phone numbers.

Or, after login look at the bottom left of the calendar - you will see a link ' Add an event'. Same on calendar day view.
