I would advise all members who have been asked to attend a salsa group promoted in the club that this may be for commercial benefit.

The Basics
In OCJ members cannot promote events that are for personal profit or a friends profit. Or events that support a company (charging a fee) when there is a close relationship with the member.
Example; I don't organise the social night in my friends bar - I have no connection with Hub Pub or the manager. If I organise a rafting trip with a company I have no relationship or personal connection which might result in a reward or some benefit for bringing business to them. I do not promote or support a particular company by providing them with business using a group of OCJ members.

Members cannot use OCJ to promote other groups.

That's it.

A non-member promoting salsa in the club
A partner of an OCJ member kept promoting salsa events in the club after being asked to stop. Last year they used their partners email address to post events without being a member.
They wanted regular salsa lessons for OCJ members in a dance partners bar/restaurant in Tsukiji. I said no, and offered to reserve a public community room in Harajuku which we used before. It is very close to their home but they refused many times and insisted on using only the friends bar... I'm sure the friend/bar owner was very happy about that.
They asked about sending another event which was with the same group of people but I declined. They went ahead and posted it using their partner's email address.
After that I asked them to stop using OCJ to recruit members into their salsa group but they ignored that. This weekend they attended an OCJ event just to recruit members for their salsa group... they knew it would be a large group of people. They went round everyone promoting only salsa.

I heard a guy was also promoting a matchmaking party/agency at the social nights and if anyone has details I would like to know - several members complained about it.

This kind of activity is not welcome in the club.

Update.

Many members complained about a person coming to meeting asking people for their email addresses and promoting  some kind of international frendship event ... it turmed out to be some dating event and they got lots of spam email. This is the spammer responsible;  Dave Faulkmore faulkmore@fetitch.com
