Outdoor Shops in Tokyo

Best Shops in Town.

1. 'Sakaiya' in Jimbocho near JR Sobu line Suidobashi station - 5 minute walk. Also near Jimbocho subway station - 3 minute walk.

Big shop with 4 stores near each other (main, footwear, clothing, climbing/tents).

Often good sale items, especially boots, trainers, sleeping bags, rucksacks and clothing ... a must see store!

Sometimes ICI Ishi Sports in Jimbocho has good boot sale, also down jackets.

Main Shop

2. 'ODBox' in Okachimachi near JR Yamanote Okachimachi station - 1 minute walk. Sometimes good sale items but just to look around ... Don't buy unless sale or something special! UPDATE - shop has now moved south of the station about 200m. Map is incorrect.

3. Kamoshika, Takadanobaba

4. Nippin (many) Akihabara

London Sports (ロンドンスポーツ)

Discount clothing and footwear shop in Tokyo - several branches.

Sometimes very good bargains for outdoor stuff: boots, down jackets, trousers, shirts etc.

One near ODBox clothing deptartment in Okachimachi - street by the tracks and opposite Douter Coffee shop.

Another bigger one in Ochanomizu. Out of the main JR exit, turn left, down the road to main street with ski and outdoor shops. Turn left and walk about 200m. Its opposite L'Breath department store.

Big Boot/ Shoes

"Big-b" (www.hireko-shoes.co.jp) near Gotanda st. on Yamanote line. They specialize in big size shoes and have a small selection of boots for hiking as well.

I recently found another large size shoe shop in Okachimachi. About 100-200m beside the track on the way to Akihabara on the west side.
