Sunday June 10th: Easy Okutama hike - Kawanori waterfalls.
Going 100%.Location [場所]: Okutama station 15 mins by bus.
Event Grade [イベント等級]: Should be easy... Fitness 2, Technical 1-2 (easy paths mostly)The path along the valley is almost flat - beside the river. After that we decide to return or climb up. There are many routes - main one is easy and about 2 hours up to the top. After that downhill to bus stop or station.

Very beautiful route with many path options after the largest waterfall in Okutama - top 100 waterfall Hyakuhiro taki (百尋の滝)
Should be places to see Hydrangea (アジサイ) and Iris (ハナショウブ).
If time there is a hot spring near the end of the hike - lots of Hydrangea there.
Okutama station to Osawa by bus (road damaged so we walk extra 10 minutes to Kawanori valley). Up the forest road 45 minutes to the start of the trail then about another 45 minutes on a hiking trail past many waterfalls to Hyakuhiro waterfall.
Rest there a little then decide the climbing route. There is a side path Im interested to Odoridaira but will decide on the day. Many trails down - Kawaii valley and 10m minute bus ride to Kawaii station and onsen, or along ridge to Okutama, Hatonusu Kori.
It will be a full day (5hrs+) but mostly flat or downhill - 2 hours uphill or less. Path expected to be easy.

Hiking footwear and clothing. Rain coat, insect cream. Sandals good going home if boots wet.
Water - I carry 1-2 litres but you can refill on the trail - safe to drink. LED light always good to carry in case trouble.

Need to catch a bus for Nippara at Okutama station at 1100. We get off at Osawa or Kawanori - 10 minutes or so.
0908 Ome special rapid train from JR Shinjuku station platform 12 (check it)Change at Ome 2 minutes and continue to Okutama arriving 1049. Nippara bus is at 1100 outside the station.

Front end of the train at Shinjuku. I will b e on the train from Ochanomizu but people can meet 10 minutes before departure on the platform, at the front.
Cost [費用]
About 1,050en to Okutama station, bus is cheap. Total about 3,000en plus 500en organizer fee.
