CANCELLED Fri 11th Mar: Akihabara social night

Post by Andy OCJ »

Cancelled
Still no trains moving where I am in Ichikawa so stations and trains in Tokyo will be bad most of the night.
Maybe next Friday. Good luck getting home from Tokyo... several years ago a shindou 5 in Tokyo resulted in trains being stopped from 5pm until midnight. Hopefull they will be running by 9pm. Trains kept running after 2 am so everyone got home.

Cancelled
Social Night: Akihabara Hub Pub Fri. 11th March. from 7.45pm-8pm start until late.

Lottery (宝くじ) for free membership, club T-shirts

If you uploaded a profile photo when requested.
Or completed the club questionnaire/anketo (with a comment) by March 4th.You can win free membership 2011 or a club T-shirt - if you attend the social night.

For those that do not win... club T-shirts will be given away at 500en!Casual meeting of members, their guests, and visitors who want to join the club...

Cash bar, food available - order and pay yourself. We are usually at the tables outside the bar (but in the building). Look around and just ask people if they are from Outdoor Club Japan.

Location: JR Akihabara station on the Yamanote line...
Near Yodobashi Camera, Tsukuba express exit and Yamanote line - about 1 minute from station.
How to get there
Photos can be seen on the OCJ message board.Ground floor of office building about 100m from JR Akihabara station. Central exit nearest Yodobashi Camera and Tsukuba Express line train (not Electric Town exit). The easy way is come out of the central exit near the Tsukuba express and turn left, then go round to the train tracks (yamanote line above). Follow the tracks 2 minutes (Ueno direction - north) and you arrive at the building ( Fuji Soft BLDG) with the Hub pub inside. On the way you will pass MacDonalds on the right side and you will see Yodabashi camera on the right across the road.

Look for OCJ sign or big group of people of mixed nationalities just outside the door - we will have tables outside pub (in building so dry).AndyAlso OCJ T-shirts available 500en each.

Post one!  :D

I will say soon that I will probably only post 1 social a month. After that other members are welcome to post them, even the Shibuya room. They can book it and collect 200en or whatever is required to pay the room fee.
24 socials a year is too much work.

Sorry about that but there will always be people who can't attend - if everybody requested other dates we would never have a social. I know you missed one last time ...  didn't miss much that day - it was quiet.

See what the train system is like. Last time there was a  grade 5 in Tokyo several years ago the trains were stopped for 6 or 7 hours while they walked the tracks for safety checks.

although i have not checked the transport information much but, it seems a bit panicky in the center of tokyo. I simply concern the safty of members who might come around to akihabara today.
I wonder if it is possible the social night is taken place next week in stead of today.
JR at this moment is totally paralyzed...
