Sunday 10th: Okutama - Relaxing Day & River Walk 1.5*

Post by Andy OCJ »

LOW IMPACT (1.5*) relaxing day planned in the OKUTAMA area and river
valley. The aim is to simply ENJOY NATURE!

Will go to a scenic section of a smaller tributary river leading into
the main Okutama River.

Short walk from Okutama Station (less than 20mins) and then easy river
walking/rock hopping from there. Lush and green mossy area with clear
water and nice little waterfalls, etc.

You will get your feet wet for shallow river crossings here and there,
but nothing too serious. We will make frequent stops to simply relax,
enjoy, take photos and 'take in' the surrounds.

Depending on will of the group, may continue walking up river to find
other nice areas (up to an hour or two river walking from Okutama
Station??), but walk will remain low impact in general.

I will also take rope and climbing harnesses for those wanting a simple
introduction to basics of rock climbing/bouldering on the river banks
(if suitable).

May go to Onsen/drinks at end of day (may join Andy's group).

Things to bring:

Rain jacket
Shoes for getting wet
Change of clothes
Water and snacks (or buy at Okutama)
Onsen kit
