This is an interesting area with the street market and lots of small bars and yakitori shops. We have done this before and they were good social nights.

Friday 25th January
Main Meeting Place: Oyama Nikku from 7pm-8pm

They are famous for their meat korokke コロッケ (croquette) but lots of other things. Drinks are cheap too.
We use the standing area in front of the shop or counter just inside...near croquette counter.
Just ask other people if they are from OCJ or use the website to contact people.

Yakitori
Members can decide after meeting maybe to go to nearby yakitori shops later ... maybe around 9pm. There are many around there on same street or under the railway track. Put a message on the page here by reply when decided.


If anyone interested there are few shops worth visiting before the social night. London Sports and Foot Monkey sometimes have boots on sale...sometimes.
London Sports in Ogawamachi is the best for discounted outdoor clothing. There is not so much in the Ueno area but maybe cheap winter snowshoe type boots.
At Foot Monkey I got 3 pairs of American goretex boots (2 pairs for winter and 1 pair 3 season). Danner Trekblaizer goretex vibram sole winter boots for 6,900en (supposed to be 18,000en). They were marked a little (1 black mark) so discounted. Another pair with slight damage to trimming material for 3000yen, and 3 season boot for 2000yen (retail price 14,000yen). Still using the winter boots since 2014 and perfect.
