Hey everyone,
I’m finally planning a trip to Japan this spring! Most of my time will be spent up in the mountains I’ve been eyeing the Northern Alps around Kamikōchi and maybe a few days in the Fuji Five Lakes area for some day hikes.
Before heading into the hills though, I’m staying a couple of nights in a small ryokan I found in Nagano. Figured it’d be a nice way to ease into the trip (and recover from the jet lag) tatami floors, hot baths, good food, the whole deal.
If anyone’s got tips for good mountain routes around there or knows of lesser-known trails that aren’t too touristy, I’d really appreciate it!
Can’t wait to get out there a bit of hiking, a bit of onsen, and maybe a few days getting lost in the countryside sounds perfect.
Heading to Japan for some mountain hikes and a few quiet days in a ryokan first
